Rip The Runway is an annual fashion show and music show broadcast by BET, held at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City.
"RIP THE RUNWAY" returns larger than ever infusing unprecedented fashion and music's brightest entertainers to provide an extraordinary fashion experience on one runway.
On Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at the historic Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City the runway will be ripped by music and television’s hottest celebrities for a night showcasing top emerging designers in street wear, swimwear and high fashion couture.
For the first time, “106 & PARK’s” “RIP THE RUNWAY” Amateur Model Contest is open to males providing both male and female aspiring models the opportunity to enter the online casting at BET.com.
Supermodel Jessica White and “gone with the wind fabulous” reality star Kenya Moore will appear on “106 & PARK” to judge “RIP THE RUNWAY” Amateur Model Contest on February 25, 2013.
During this final phase, they will compete in a series of three (3) challenges - “The Look,” a ‘photo’ contest, “The Talk,” mock commercial competition and “The Walk,” a ‘catwalk’ contest.
The panel of celebrity judges combined with a viewer text vote will weigh the results and determine who will walk in “RIP THE RUNWAY.”

OPEN TO MALE AND FEMALE AMATEUR MODELS ONLY (CANNOT BE SIGNED TO AN AGENCY) WHO ARE LEGAL RESIDENTS OF THE UNITED STATES AND THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA (EXCLUDING PUERTO RICO, THE U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS, AND OTHER COMMONWEALTHS, TERRITORIES AND POSSESSIONS), 21 YEARS OR OLDER.
1. HOW TO ENTER: This sweepstakes begins at 6:00 p.m. EST January 16, 2013 and ends at 6:00 p.m. EST January 25, 2013 (the “Entry Period”) and consists of three (3) phases:
Phase 3: The Finalists will appear on BET’s “106 & Park” on February 25, 2013 to compete for an opportunity to walk the runway in the “Rip the Runway” fashion special scheduled to be taped on February 27, 2013 at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York, NY. The Finalists will participate in Round 1 “the look,” Round 2 “the talk,” and Round 3 “the walk.” A group of judges selected in BET’s sole discretion will choose their favorite male and female Finalist to become the “Rip the Runway Amateur Model.” Mobile users also will vote for their favorite male and female Finalist by texting “F1,” “F2,” “M1,” or “M2” to 79922. In the event of a tie amongst the judges, the male and female Finalist with the most cumulative mobile votes will be selected as the “Rip the Runway Amateur Model.”
